Bike Parking
There are 60 bike racks and 52 lockers at Greenbelt station. Bicycle lockers are available for rent. So you can ride your bicycle to the metro station, leave it there, and take Metro or Metrobus.
Bicycle lockers provide secure parking by improving protection from theft, vandalism, and weather. Each locker is designed to hold one bicycle and bicycle gear. When you rent a locker, you are given a key to open your assigned locker. The space inside is about 1.2m (4 feet) high x 1.9m (6 feet, 5 inches) deep x 0.9m (3 feet) wide at the door and narrows toward the back of the locker. Most standard bicycles will fit inside. However, longer bicycles such as tandem bikes or some recumbent bikes will not fit into the lockers.
To rent a locker, send an email to bikelocker@wmata.com providing your name, address, contact phone number, email address, and station of interest. All locker rentals cost $200 per year, and are subject to availability.
Greenbelt Metro Parking
All Day Parking
There are 3,399 parking spots. Cost/day is $4.25. Parking fees are collected upon exit from 10:30 a.m. to Metro closing hours. Parking fees can be paid using SmarTrip® Card and credit cards.
Short-term Metered Parking
There are 201 parking spots. Parking is available from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m., time limit is 12 hours. The rate is $1.00 per 60 mins. Meters at short-term parking spaces accept only quarters and $1 coins.
Reserved Parking
There is reserved parking at Cherrywood Lane at CSX/MARC RR, access off exit 24 of inner loop I-495. The reserved rate is $65. Monthly permit holders are required to pay the daily fee each time they park. The daily fee is in addition to the $65 monthly permit fee.
Overnight Parking
The Greenbelt Metro Station provides between 15 and 17 spaces allocated for multi-day use of up to 10 days. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost/Day is $4.25. There is no charge for multi-day parking beyond the regular fee. Access Multi-day parking by entering the parking lot through the Cherrywood Lane entrance and following signs to the spaces. Park in spaces signed "multi-day parking."
RV Parking
The RV lot is an oversized parking area on the south side of the parking lot. The area is ONLY accessible from I-95 Southbound past Route 1. To get to the RV lot, take I-95 North to Route 1 College Park/ Laurel exit. Take Route 1 South (College Park) to the I-95 South exit (right there at the I-95 and Route 1 interchange). Take I-95 South to the Greenbelt Metro Station exit. Follow the signs to the oversized lot. The RV lot is not accessible from Cherrywood Lane.
Free Parking
Parking is free at Metro-operated lots on weekends and federal holidays. Most weekends, it's easy to find a space at Metro parking lots.
