Note: Do not lock your bicycle to railings, sign posts, benches, and other unauthorized areas around the station. Such bicycles are subject to removal without notification.
Metro Entrance: The station has 2 exits or entrances (see below). If you are visiting the museums and monuments at the National Mall, use the Jefferson Drive exit.

Smithsonian Metro Platform

The Orange Line goes in two directions: Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and New Carrollton.

The Smithsonian Metro Station is an important touristic hub serving several bus systems, such as the WMATA Metrobus, DC Circulator, OmniRide commuter bus as well as others.
DC Circulator: Smithsonian - National Gallery of Art Loop
This Circulator route loops around the National Mall connecting important touristic attractions, such as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, among others. The bus also provides a quick connection to the Smithsonian museums.
