The World War II Memorial is dedicated to military veterans who served during World War II. The memorial is located on the National Mall at the Rainbow Pool site at the east end of the Reflecting Pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
President Clinton dedicated the memorial site during a formal ceremony on Veterans Day, November 11, 1995.
The World War II Memorial is accessible via Smithsonian Station or Federal Triangle Station. Both metro stops are on the Orange and Blue lines. The Smithsonian Station has two exits. When visiting the memorial, exit the station through the Mall Exit (12th Street at Jefferson Drive SW). Use the map and directions (see below) to find suggested routes to the memorial.
